1. Summary

This policy sets out what SmartMatchHub stores on your device and why. The website sets no cookies, uses no analytics and loads no third-party scripts. Fonts are served from our own servers. The only item the website stores is your light or dark theme preference, and only if you use the theme toggle. The app stores a sign-in token, a push notification token and error-reporting state. Each item is either strictly necessary to provide the service you asked for or set because you chose it. We use no advertising identifiers, no analytics software and no attribution software. Section 7 explains how to clear each item.

2. Who issues this policy and what it covers

This policy is issued by [[LEGAL_ENTITY]], registration number [[COMPANY_REG_NO]], of [[REGISTERED_ADDRESS]]. It covers the SmartMatchHub website and the SmartMatchHub mobile app. It forms part of our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal information once it reaches us.

Storage that is strictly necessary to provide a service you have requested does not require your consent. Storage that is not strictly necessary requires your consent before it is placed on your device. We place no storage that falls outside those two categories. If you are in the United Kingdom, regulation 6 of the Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003 applies, and we rely on the strictly necessary exemption for the items listed in sections 5 and 6.

4. The website

The website is static. It sets no cookies, whether first-party or third-party. It uses no analytics, no tag manager, no tracking pixels, no session recording, no fingerprinting and no advertising software. It loads no scripts, fonts, stylesheets or images from third-party servers, and all fonts are self-hosted. No third party receives information about your visit as a result of a page loading.

If you submit your email address to the waiting list, that address is sent to [[WAITLIST_PROVIDER]] and handled as described in our Privacy Policy. Submitting the form stores nothing on your device.

5. What the website stores on your device

Item Type Purpose Set when Retained
Theme preference Browser local storage Records whether you selected the light or the dark theme so that the same theme is applied on your next visit Only when you use the light and dark toggle Until you clear your browser storage for this site

The website writes nothing else to your device. The theme preference contains no identifier and is not sent to us or to anyone else.

6. What the app stores on your device

The app stores the items below on the device itself. None of them is a cookie.

Item Purpose Set when Retained
Sign-in token Keeps you signed in so that you do not have to enter your password each time you open the app When you sign in Until the token expires, or the app or its data is removed from the device
Push notification token An identifier issued by your device’s operating system that allows us to send you push notifications When you allow notifications for the app Until you turn notifications off for the app in your device settings, or the app is removed
Error-reporting state Small technical records used by our error-tracking provider, [[ERROR_TRACKING_PROVIDER]], to group error and crash reports and to avoid sending the same report twice While the released version of the app is running Until the app or its data is removed from the device

Error reporting operates in the released version of the app only. The app contains no advertising identifier, no analytics software and no attribution software. We do not record calls, and no call audio is stored on your device by us.

7. How to clear what is stored

You can clear the website’s theme preference by clearing site data, or cookies and site data, for this site in your browser settings. Browsing the site in a private or incognito window prevents the preference from being kept after you close the window.

Removing the app from your device clears the sign-in token, the push notification token and the error-reporting state. On devices that offer it, clearing the app’s storage or app data in your device settings has the same effect. You can stop the push notification token being used at any time by turning notifications off for the app in your device’s notification settings.

Clearing device storage does not delete your account or the personal information we hold about you. To ask about deletion or to exercise any of your data protection rights, email [[PRIVACY_EMAIL]].

8. Effect of clearing storage

If you clear the sign-in token you will need to sign in again. If you clear or turn off the push notification token you will not receive push notifications from the app. If you clear the theme preference the website will apply its default theme until you set the preference again.

9. Third parties

Push notifications are delivered through the operating system services provided by Google and Apple, and by [[PUSH_PROVIDER]]. Error reports are sent to [[ERROR_TRACKING_PROVIDER]]. Neither service places advertising storage on your device through the app. We do not sell or share any device storage or identifier for advertising purposes, and we run no advertising on the website or in the app.

10. Changes to this policy

We may change this policy. Where a change is material we will tell you in the app or by email to the address on your account before the change takes effect. The date at the top of this policy shows when this version was issued.

11. Contact

Questions about this policy may be sent to [[PRIVACY_EMAIL]], or by post to our Information Officer, [[INFORMATION_OFFICER]], at [[POSTAL_ADDRESS]].
